I apologize for the unannounced hiatus but unexpected personal business required me to be out of town for a week.

An upcoming event that may interest some of you is the City Council’s Strategic Planning Committee is meeting next Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the caucus room to review the demolition strategy behind the MOF Grant the city received from the Ohio Attorney General last summer. The money was granted based on a strategy put together by Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and blessed by the Mayor before being submitted by the County. (How’s that for a process?)

The Council had plenty of opportunity to weigh in on the plan last summer so I’m not quite sure what can be done about it now, but we shall see. I expect to see a number of important City and County officials at the meeting. For those of you who can’t take off from work, rest assured I’ll be there for you.

It is supposed to be a lousy weekend weather-wise so let me suggest an indoor activity — perhaps for mid-afternoon on Sunday once the Browns are 3 touchdowns behind early in the third quarter.

If you have not already, do yourself a favor and watch Claire Gysegem’s film “Abandoned.” Claire is a college student who made “Abandoned” as work of love for the city she grew up in. Everyone who lives here should see it and forward the YouTube link to as many people as possible.
