Warren Wedding on the Hudson

Share

I’ll be traveling for a couple of weeks and most likely not posting anything much until I return. I’m in Massachusetts now daggling my toes in a spring-fed lake in the Pioneer Valley, but I stopped in New York City on the way here for a little slice of Warren along the way.

My old Friend Michael Roberts got married Saturday to Patricia from Chicago in a lovely ceremony in a beautiful old Lutheran church on Central Park West and 65th Street, played to the alter by a trio of classical musicians.

After a couple of bellinis at Fiorella’s across the street from Lincoln Center we headed up to Yonkers where the reception was held in the restaurant – one of the best in Westchester — over the steel pier that juts into the Hudson River. We had views of both the George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges on a clear and hot afternoon. The food was fabulous as were the eight musicians that entertained us. As you may know Michael has been a professional musician himself in New York for many, many years and he had his pick of the best.

We might have been at Alberini’s if they had a river view. Also in attendance were Michael’s brothers David and Gunnar, and his sister Lisa Mazzochi plus other Warrenites (past and present) David Jordan, Georgene Lucy, Mike and Neal Manes, David Castilla, Bobby Sabitini and probably a few others I’ve forgotten. I felt like I’d never left town.

Enjoy the summer. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks.

  2. Hey Dennis –

Check this out. Off topic for this post, but quite relevant to your larger project.
